چکیده
Abstract Chronic inflammation plays an important role in the progression and outcome of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The circulating levels inflammatory biomarkers interleukin 6 (IL6) pentraxin 3 (PTX3) are enhanced CKD patients, associated with higher risk for cardiovascular events, major cause death patients. Our aim was to study how specific polymorphisms IL6 PTX3 encoding genes affect response end-stage renal (ESRD) patients on dialysis. Methodology included analysis two single nucleotide (SNP), namely (rs1800795) polymorphism promoter region (-174G > C), (rs2305619) intron 1 (+ 281A G), which were analyzed ESRD dialysis a group heathy individuals. allelic frequencies, genotype distribution their association markers C-reactive protein (CRP), IL6, growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) PTX3, determined Events recorded along one year, assess studied SNPs all-cause mortality biomarkers, Results showed that frequencies control similar agreement other European reports. For polymorphism, we found trend towards high-sensitivity (hs) CRP, homozygous genotypes; CC also highest GDF15. rate after 1-year follow-up 10.4%. ( SNP) deceased carrying this hsCRP. Regarding SNP, AA linked response, showing values hsCRP IL6. Nevertheless, had no significant impact rate. In conclusion, both seem modulate may, therefore, be determinant patients’ outcome. data highlights importance research genetic variants that, although less frequent, may have biological value.

Race, Mineral Homeostasis and Mortality in Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease on Dialysis.
BACKGROUND Abnormalities in mineral homeostasis are ubiquitous in patients on dialysis, and influenced by race. In this study, we determine the race-specific relationship between mineral parameters and mortality in patients initiating hemodialysis. METHODS We measured the levels of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) and 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25 D) in 184 African American and 327 non-African A...
متن کاملArterial media calcification in end-stage renal disease: impact on all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
BACKGROUND Cross-sectional and follow-up studies on end-stage renal disease patients showed that arterial calcifications are associated with cardiovascular (CV) morbidity and are an independent predictor of all-cause and CV mortality. However, these studies did not examine the impact on prognosis according to the type of calcification, i.e. intimal vs medial. Arterial media calcification (AMC),...
متن کاملThe relationship between Aldosterone level and various LV conditions in patients with End-stage renal disease
Background: Aldosterone has been assumed to be implicated in left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Preventing the progression of LVH in the early period of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) can increase patient survival. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the relationship between aldosterone level and LVH in ESRD patients who underwent hemodialysis at Fatemeh Zahra Hospital and Imam Khomeini Hosp...
متن کاملLeptin and Interleukin-6 in End-stage Renal Disease
Objective: Leptin, the product of ob gene, is important in control of appetite in humans. The objective was to determine the pre and post serum leptin levels in patients with ESRD (undergoing hemodialysis), to compare the pre serum leptin levels in patients with ESRD and normal healthy controls and to determine the serum IL-6 levels among patients with ESRD before and after hemodialysis. Method...
